4 Months Old

Journey is our first black conformation Lab, but she's chocolate on the inside! She's a lovely, typey young bitch we got from our good friend and fellow breeder Denise Babcock from The Captain's Kennels in northern Minnesota. Journey is a daughter of Am. CH High Voltage Blaze'n Chase, JH, CD, WC, CGC, who is a littermate to our Gemma. Chase was killed in an accident the week Journey was born, and her name, TrailBLAZER was in honor of him. Journey's dam is an imported Alvgarden bitch, which crosses back nicely with our lines.

Journey is a firecracker! She takes life head-on at full speed, and delights in everyone and everything she encounters. At her first fun match at 3 months old, her delightful personality in the ring won her a whole group of cheering fans, who whooped even more loudly when she took BOB Lab puppy.

We expected great things from this little black gal, and she's lived up to all of our expectations but one. While she is lovely and typey and is a retrieving fool, she took after her Mom in height and is too short for the AKC conformation ring. We are showing her in UKC though, and hope to do performance events with her as well. She also has an important job being TJ's best friend. On her next heat cycle, we plan to breed Journey to our very own Dubya. This line breeding will hopefully add the bone and height we're hoping this beautiful girl will be able to produce!
