These
special pups are a delight! Journey goes back to our foundation
lines (she is the neice of Gemma) and Gelato is a gorgeous chocolate
boy with a pedigree to match. We expect great things from these
pups! We have boys and girls available at this time! Please contact
us at tarkom@gmail.com or
by phone at 334-332-0068 if you'd like to discuss these very special
puppies.

Here
at TarKom, raising puppies is both a pleasure and a huge responsibility.
We are very conscious of the fact that our choices in these first
weeks of life can drastically impact our puppies' future well being.
All puppies are whelped and raised in our home in a clean, safe
environment, with lots of human contact. They spend the first critical
weeks with their mother, carefully supervised.
We
also practice a program of early neurological stimulation, called
"Bio Sensor" and/or the "Super Dog" Program.
This is a program based on years of research that was begun by the
military. Studies have confirmed that there are specific time periods
early in life when neurological stimulation has optimum results.
The first period involves a window of time that begins at the third
day of life and lasts until the sixteenth day. It is believed that
because this interval of time is a period of rapid neurological
growth and development, and that early neurological stimulation
can give the dogs a great advantage in later life. Some of the benefits
include improved cardio vascular performance (heart rate), stronger
heart beats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress and
greater resistance to disease. In tests of learning, stimulated
pups were found to be more active and were more exploratory than
their non- stimulated littermates over which they were dominant
in competitive situations. Here at TarKom, we have noticed that
our pups have been more social, more calm in stressful situations,
and overall more enthusiastic puppies since we implemented the program.

At
about four weeks of age, the babies are moved to a larger area with
plenty of room to play, sleep and explore. They are given a "potty
spot" and begin to train themselves. The puppies are given
many different toys and things to climb on and explore, and are
exposed to a variety of noises. They are also socialized with children
and various adults, as well as with our other dogs. They are also
taken outdoors to our special puppy yard, full of toys and obstacles
and things to explore. They are given wings, and are exposed to
water if weather permits. We watch the personalities of the various
pups emerge, which allows us to match buyers with the best puppy
for their family.
We
breed primarily for ourselves, and raising puppies is one of my
favorite things to do! We spend a great deal of time with our puppies,
and are extremely selective about the homes they go into. We don't
sell our puppies to live in someone's yard - Labs are people dogs,
and they need to live in the house with the people they love. We
want our puppies to go to forever homes where they will be cherished
family members, so you can expect to be asked a lot of questions
prior to purchasing one of our pups. All of our pet puppies are
sold with AKC Limited Registration on Spay/Neuter contracts. This
means that they may participate fully in all AKC activities except
conformation. Should a puppy be bred in violation of the Spay/Neuter
contract, none of the offspring would be eligible for AKC registration.
Occasionally, puppies may be available to show homes.
Our
joy in raising puppies is evident when you look at our puppy pictures
or watch the slide show. We take tons of pictures, too. Many new
families have commented that they feel a part of the litter growing
up because they are so connected through photos and our blog.
We
breed with an eye towards the health of the puppies we produce,
and offer a health warranty. Interested buyers may contact
us so we can discuss adding a TarKom puppy to your household.
Prospective buyers may then make a deposit to reserve a pup from
an upcoming litter. Deposits are non-refundable unless a puppy from
the specified litter is not available when the pups are ready to
go home. Should a puppy not be available, the buyer will be given
the choice of moving the deposit to another litter, or receiving
a refund.
When
you adopt a TarKom puppy, you become a part of our extended family.
We will be available to you for the life of your puppy - to answer
questions, give advice, or just share a funny story or a picture.
Every pup bred at TarKom always has a home with us should
the need arise.
